Marine Corps Captain becomes First Woman to Fly with F-35

SUMMARY: Lieutenant Colonel Christine Mau became the first female F-35 Lightning II pilot after she began training at the Eglin Air Force Base. Mau joins 87 other F-35 pilots who have trained in the last four years at Eglin Air Force Base. Mau said, ‘”The plane doesn’t know or care about your gender as a pilot, nor do the ground troops who need your support. You just have to perform. That’s all anyone cares about when you’re up there – that you can do your job, and that you do it exceptionally well.”
